Thomas makes quadruple-bogey 9 at Quicken Loans
Justin Thomas made three pars, three birdies, and three bogeys to open his tournament at the Quicken Loans National on Thursday.
But then the par-5 10th hole happened.
Thomas found the hazard to the left of the fairway off the tee, and then followed up a mistake with a bad decision. The 24-year-old took two swings from the hazard, before electing to take a penalty drop for his fifth shot on the hole.

The adventure continued for Thomas, who sent his next attempt into the long grass on the right side of the winding fairway and was forced to punch out for his sixth.

The world No. 12 would eventually pick his ball out of the cup, but not before posting a quadruple-bogey nine.
