Drunk Ryder Cup? Spieth is taking Fowler as his teammate
Rickie Fowler can apparently play quality golf sober or intoxicated, according to his friend Jordan Spieth.
Spieth, who's at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this week, was asked on the Dan Patrick Show who he'd want as a partner if drinking was mandatory during the Ryder Cup team competition.
"I'd probably choose Rickie," said Spieth. "He could play barefoot, he could play on one foot. He's just got this skill set."
Along with Justin Thomas and Smylie Kaufman, Spieth has seen Fowler's capabilities with a golf club and a beer can in hand while on the annual #SB2K vacation.
"I've played a bit of golf like that with him, Justin Thomas, myself. Me and Justin are awful when we drink. Awful," added Spieth. "It's not enjoyable for us. We play every other hole. I get the snap-hooks. He hits them right. And we're normally in the same cart so it’s not great. But Rickie tears it up."
