Bud Cauley makes first appearance following horrific car crash
Bud Cauley is prepping for his return to the PGA Tour less than three months after he was involved in a major car accident that left him hospitalized with five broken ribs, a fractured lower left leg, and a collapsed lung.
Cauley, who is in his sixth season on the Tour, sat 84th in the FedEx Cup standings at the time of the crash.
"Friday was the scariest night of my life but I'm so thankful to be alive and only have the injuries I have," Cauley said in a statement following the accident. "I have no timetable to return to the PGA Tour but I had successful surgery yesterday and every day is a step closer to competing again."
The Florida native will remain sidelined for upcoming tournaments and then receive a medical exemption for the 2019 season.
