Glaring error, trash talk shocks Twitter after confirmed Tiger vs. Phil match
Tiger Woods dropped a massive tweet on Wednesday evening, confirming his high-stakes money match versus Phil Mickelson is on and taking place over Thanksgiving weekend in Las Vegas.

Even though many anticipated the news, the confirmation sent Twitter into a frenzy after a noticeable error in the announcement and some terrible trash talking.
If Cat and Phil are playing with opposite handed clubs, I'm WAY in on that. pic.twitter.com/2XC8pW63yW

Yes, that's a picture of Tiger holding a left-handed driver, even after months of preparation for the big announcement.
I didn’t know that 🐐 was playing Phil with left handed clubs 👀@Skratch @NoLayingUp pic.twitter.com/U14JZAgbHm

$9m on the line and they have Tiger swinging a left-handed driver in the ad. Still can’t get over this.

In fairness, photos of Tiger are hard to come by.

Even Phil chimed in on the egregious mistake.
@TigerWoods I see you have a left-handed driver, well played. I hope it's a Callaway pic.twitter.com/qWuXsGVC6z

This is all unraveling on the same day Mickelson joined Twitter and made his presence felt in the most Phil-esque way possible.

After the huge confirmation, Lefty talked trash to the 14-time major winner in his third tweet ever. Tiger responded with a standard comeback for a 42-year-old.
Think you will earn some bragging rights? 🏆

Twitter didn't handle the back-and-forth banter very well.

This reads like one of those things where someone was trying to teach robots to trash talk pic.twitter.com/UFmx9txUIa

how is this match ruined already https://t.co/ZevHL7CYUm

Tiger vs. Phil isn’t just official, but they’re also gonna smack-talk through social media?
— Jason Sobel (@JasonSobelTAN) August 22, 2018
Yup, I’m in. For all of it. Like Tiger said: It’s on.
Mickelson inadvertently leaked more news in the "trash talk" by referring to a $9 million prize, instead of the $10 million originally reported to be on the line.
Apparently, the PGA Tour isn't a fan of the money match equaling the prize awarded to the FedEx Cup winner, according to Jason Sobel of the Action Network.
At $10 million, the PGA Tour reportedly didn’t love them matching the FedEx Cup winner’s prize for one match. But $9 million? Popcorn time, I guess. https://t.co/fELO8agAtJ

Regardless of how the two golf icons are playing recently, they can certainly still create a buzz in the golf community. This Tiger-Phil match will be must-watch television over the holiday weekend.
I'm starting to think that this $10M ($9M?) match is just about the money.
