Robin Tiger Williams, a 17-year-old golfer from England, was left in awe after meeting his idol and namesake at Le Golf National on Wednesday.
The teen, who made his debut last year at the British Masters, told James Corrigan of The Telegraph that his dad decided to name him Tiger after Woods won the 2001 Masters.
"Dad has told me I was very nearly 'Robin Sachin.' But I'm glad he settled on Tiger," Williams said. "I was born the year Woods completed the Tiger Slam, so I think that made up dad's mind. It's a perfect fit the way things have turned out. The first time my dad put a club in my hand when I was 18 months, I was bitten by the golfing bug."
