Mickelson: Barkley's entertaining golf swing brings joy, pleasure into my life
NBA legend Charles Barkley's horrible golf swing is well documented, and according to Phil Mickelson, it's so amusing it should never be fixed.
"Well that swing is so entertaining I don't want to change it," Mickelson responded when asked to give swing tips to Barkley. "That brings a lot of joy and pleasure to my life."
Mickelson was on with Barkley and the NBA on TNT panel during Thursday night's Los Angeles Lakers-Denver Nuggets game promoting his upcoming high-stakes match with Tiger Woods on Nov. 23.
However, Lefty did admit that Barkley was, at one point in time, a good ball striker back in his Phoenix Suns days.
"When he was playing for the Suns back in the early 90s, his swing had no hitch, it was beautiful, he hit the ball a long ways and he was a good ball striker," he said.
It's hard to envision Barkley ever possessing a picturesque golf swing given what it looks like now.

His swing is so bad, he even tried swinging one-handed this past summer. His reaction suggests the results were about the same.
