Technical issues caused Bleacher Report Live to make a last-minute decision to stream The Match between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson on Friday for free, reports ESPN's Darren Rovell.
The cost of the event was set at $19.99 USD, but an issue with the payment mechanism apparently caused headaches for those looking to tune in.
"We experienced a technical issue on Bleacher Report Live that impacted user access to 'The Match,'" Turner spokesman Nate Smeltz told Rovell. "We took a number of steps to resolve the matter with our main priority being to deliver the content to those who purchased the event.
Rovell adds there's no word yet as to whether those who had already paid for the event will be credited.
