Casey, Cook tied after Round 2 of Valspar Championship
Paul Casey and Austin Cook share a one-shot lead through 36 holes of the Valspar Championship.
Casey, the defending champion, fired a 5-under 66 on Friday to climb into the top spot. Before bogeying his final hole to drop back to 6-under for the tournament, the Englishman recorded four birdies and an eagle during a sensational day of ball-striking.
Cook grabbed his share of the lead with a 4-under 67 at Innisbrook Resort's Copperhead Course.
Luke Donald, Sungjae Im, and Scott Stallings sit in a three-way tie for third at 5-under.
Dustin Johnson (4-under) and Jon Rahm (3-under) are in the top 15 after second rounds of 69 and 68, respectively.
Notables Jason Day, Patrick Reed, Webb Simpson, and Gary Woodland all missed the 1-over cut. Woodland's 22 straight made cuts, the longest active streak, came to an end.
