Tiger tops money-wagered list heading into U.S. Open
Even though Tiger Woods is not the betting favorite heading into the U.S Open, bettors are confident in his ability to win his second major of 2019.
The 15-time major champion leads the way in terms of most money received on a single golfer to win at Pebble Beach, according to Las Vegas Superbook's Jeff Sherman.
He also sits second behind Dustin Johnson in the number of individual bets placed on any single player.
Woods is priced at 10-1 to win his 16th career major, per Sherman. That puts him as the third favorite alongside Rory McIlroy. Johnson is the favorite at 13-2, with two-time defending champion Brooks Koepka a close second at 8-1.
Fan-favorite Phil Mickelson (25-1) sits inside the top five on both the money-wagered and ticket-count leaders list.
