Tiger set to play BMW Championship: 'Thought I'd give it a go'

A few days after withdrawing from The Northern Trust due to an oblique strain, Tiger Woods arrived at Medinah Country Club on Tuesday and said he's ready to play the BMW Championship.

"I feel good," Tiger said, according to ESPN's Bob Harig. "Feel a lot better than I felt last week. Felt good this morning, so I thought I'd give it a go."

The 43-year-old didn't decide to play the second leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs until Tuesday morning, according to Harig.

Last week, Tiger was unable to complete his Wednesday pro-am and carded an opening-round 75 at Liberty National. He withdrew prior to his morning tee time on Friday, which was Woods' first time bowing out early since the 2017 Dubai Desert Classic.

Despite not finishing last week, Woods remained hopeful about being ready to play at Medinah, where he won the 1999 and 2006 PGA Championship.

The 15-time major champ is scheduled to play in the BMW Championship pro-am on Wednesday morning at 7:50 a.m. ET, and he'll speak with the media afterward. His first round begins on Thursday at 12:54 p.m. alongside C.T. Pan and Billy Horschel.
