Spieth falls outside top 50 in world rankings for 1st time since 2013
Jordan Spieth fell outside the top 50 on the Official World Golf Ranking for the first time since 2013.
After a T-55 at the Farmers Insurance Open, Spieth slipped to No. 51 in the latest ranking released on Monday. It's his lowest ranking since missing the cut at the 2013 PGA Championship as a 20-year-old.
Following that result, Spieth won 10 PGA Tour events, including three major championships. He's reached No. 1 in the world on four separate occasions, spending a total of 26 weeks in the top spot.
However, his last win was at the 2017 Open Championship, and he's also failed to qualify for the season-ending Tour Championship the last two campaigns. That event features the top 30 on the FedEx Cup points list.
By falling outside of the top 50 in the world, Spieth is no longer eligible for guaranteed entry into the WGC-Mexico Championship and the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.
