Euro Tour hopeful of late-May return as virus impacts 2 more events
The European Tour announced the postponement of the Made in Denmark tournament and the cancellation of the GolfSixes tournaments on Thursday, bringing the total to 11 events on its schedule the coronavirus pandemic has now impacted.
However, chief executive Keith Pelley hopes the tour will return in late May.
“We will continue to monitor this global situation in relation to Coronavirus and evaluate its impact on all our tournaments, with public health and well-being our absolute priority," Pelly said. "Discussions regarding the possible rescheduling of all postponed tournaments are ongoing and we remain hopeful of European Tour action resuming in Ireland at the end of May.”
There will be no golf played on the European Tour until at least May 28. For comparison, the PGA Tour has canceled all events up until May 21.
