Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy will square off against Rickie Fowler and Matthew Wolff in a charity skins game on May 17 at Seminole Golf Club in Florida, the PGA Tour announced Monday.
The event, which will raise money for COVID-19 relief efforts, will be closed to the public and follow strict CDC social distancing guidelines. It will also utilize appropriate testing measures to help protect the safety of the golfers and production crew on site.
"I hope that we can provide some respite and entertainment for those tuning in across the globe," world No. 1 McIlroy said. "Dustin and I will have a lot of fun together and our games will fit well as we push to raise funds and awareness.”
All four players are ambassadors of TaylorMade, one of the sponsors putting on the charity event. Fowler and Wolff, who both played for Oklahoma State in college, will have their hands full against two of the top five golfers in the world.
"I'm fired up to play alongside Rickie," the 21-year-old Wolff said. "Rickie and I are ready to bring our best and more importantly help the frontline heroes getting us through this extremely difficult time."
Seminole Golf Club, where new Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady recently became a member, is considered one of the most prestigious courses in the United States.
NBC will broadcast the event in North America from 2-6 p.m. ET. It will be the first-ever broadcasted event from Seminole and will mark golf's return to television after the Players Championship was canceled on March 12.
