Dustin Johnson withdrew from the 3M Open due to a back injury, the PGA Tour announced Thursday.
Johnson managed to finish his opening round, struggling to a 7-over 78 that included a quadruple-bogey on No. 18. The world No. 4 also had difficulty scoring last week, posting back-to-back 80s to miss the cut at the Memorial Tournament.
DJ's form declined after he earned the 21st win of his career at the Travelers Championship on June 28.
This week's event is being played at TPC Twin Cities in Minnesota. Tony Finau currently owns a share of the clubhouse lead after firing a 6-under 65.
