The field
Due to the recent end of the 2019-20 season and the looming U.S. Open, the field for the Safeway Open is not very strong. Phil Mickelson and Jordan Spieth are the two most recognizable names of the 156 competitors, with Sergio Garcia, Shane Lowry, Si Woo Kim, and Brandt Snedeker among the other notables.

The course

Silverado Resort's North Course is a 7,166-yard, par-72 track that routinely ranks among the easier venues visited by PGA Tour pros. It's relatively short, with four par 5s that give an advantage to players who hit it long off the tee, but it doesn't necessarily rule out competitors who depend on accuracy.
