Aaron Wise fired his second consecutive 6-under 64 on Friday at PGA National to build a three-shot lead at the Honda Classic.

The 24-year-old made two eagles in Round 2 to help overcome three bogeys. Wise's well-balanced play has him ranked fourth in strokes gained: tee-to-green and sixth in strokes gained: putting to give him a comfortable edge over Brandon Hagy and first-round leader Matt Jones.

His three-shot advantage after 36 holes is the largest at the Honda Classic since 2004, according to the 15th Club's Justin Ray. Wise will be looking to secure his second career PGA Tour title and first since the 2018 Byron Nelson - the same year he claimed Rookie of the Year honors.

After tying the course record Thursday, Jones could only muster an even-par performance on Day 2.

Hagy flirted with the course record but settled one shot short with a bogey-free 62.

Here's the top of the leaderboard following Round 2.

Place Player To Par R2 Score
1 Aaron Wise -12 64
T2 Brandon Hagy -9 62

4 Sam Ryder -8 63
T5 Denny McCarthy -7 65
T5 Scott Harrington -7 67
T5 Shane Lowry -7 66
T5 Russell Henley -7 69

Sungjae Im, Adam Scott, and Joaquin Niemann are at 4-under and in a tie for 16th.

Rickie Fowler (2-under) and Phil Mickelson (1-under) both qualified for the weekend.

Lee Westwood, Henrik Stenson, and Ian Poulter all missed the 1-over cut.
