Matthew Wolff withdrew from next week's PGA Championship at Kiawah Island, the tournament announced Tuesday.
First alternate Tom Hoge will replace Wolff in the field for the season's second major.
Wolff hasn't played since missing the cut at the Zurich Classic in late April. It's been a difficult season for the 22-year-old, as he was disqualified from the Masters for signing an incorrect scorecard and has only posted one top-20 finish in 12 events since October.
The PGA Championship is scheduled to begin May 20.
