DeChambeau to donate to survivor of fatal crash involving golf team
Bryson DeChambeau announced he's providing financial support to one of the survivors of the fatal car crash involving the University of the Southwest men's and women's golf teams.
"Absolutely horrible news today of the deadly car accident involving the University of Southwest golf teams," Bryson said Wednesday, according to TMZ Sports. "I want to extend my deepest condolences to the families involved in the tragedy. I know this is absolutely devastating."
He added: "I have been contacted by one of the survivors involved in the accident, who is in critical condition. I will be taking part in donating to the family of Dayton Price to help cover the costs they will be facing."
Nine people were killed and two others injured Tuesday evening when a passenger van carrying members of the University of the Southwest's golf teams collided with a pickup truck, according to Mason Storrs of NewsWest 9.
Six students and coach Tyler James were killed in the crash. The driver of the pickup truck and a passenger were also killed.
A GoFundMe page set up for Price and his family states that the Canadian golfer is in critical condition and doctors are "working tirelessly to stabilize his condition." More than $96,000 has been raised as of Thursday afternoon.
