Bryson DeChambeau won't play in the PGA Championship this week as the 28-year-old continues to recover from surgery on his left hand, the championship announced Wednesday.
DeChambeau fractured his hamate bone in early February and didn't play again until late March at the World Golf Championship-Match Play. He then made appearances at the Valero Texas Open and the Masters Tournament in April, though he failed to make the cut at either event.
He announced that he underwent surgery to repair the fracture April 14.
DeChambeau was originally scheduled to tee off in a group with Tyrrell Hatton and Max Homa at 8:49 a.m. ET on Thursday at Southern Hills. Denny McCarthy will replace him in the field.
