Hideki Matsuyama and Cameron Young have seemingly decided to remain within the PGA TOUR's ranks.

Matsuyama confirmed to the Associated Press' Doug Ferguson at the TOUR Championship Sunday that he isn't taking off for LIV Golf.

Meanwhile, Young further explained his decision to stay put.

"Frankly, throughout the whole process with (LIV Golf), I was very interested. I think they have a bunch of good ideas and are doing some cool stuff," the PGA TOUR rookie said, according to The Athletic's Brendan Quinn.

"With some of the changes coming (to the PGA TOUR), that's kind of what really helped me decide to kind of stay and pursue those goals that I have for myself like making a Presidents Cup team and a Ryder Cup team and winning a major, when all of that is just uncertain if you go."

PGA TOUR commissioner Jay Monahan announced Wednesday a series of changes to the 2023 schedule amid mounting pressure from LIV Golf. The new moves include increased purses and larger commitments from top players.

Cameron Smith, Joaquin Niemann, Marc Leishman, and Harold Varner III are reportedly joining LIV Golf next week. Cameron Tringale confirmed his departure to the Saudi-backed series on Sunday.
