McNealy shot into contention with nine birdies through his first 13 holes. Aberg tied him with three straight birdies on his back nine before securing the win with another on the 18th hole.

The victory is Aberg's second on the PGA TOUR, with his first coming at the RSM Classic in 2023. The 25-year-old Swede was a runner-up on three occasions last season, including at the Masters and BMW Championship.

"It was a great fight," Aberg said of his Sunday showing at Torrey Pines, according to The Associated Press' Doug Ferguson. "I'm really proud of the way I finished. It was really cool."

McNealy entered the final round five strokes back of the lead and was pleased with how he finished.

"It's more than I could have asked for at the start of the day," he said. "Ludvig played awesome. I knew with that leaderboard it was going to take some great golf to get it done."

Tiger Woods is the host of the Genesis Invitational, but he withdrew after the death of his mother, Kultida.
