Before Rory McIlroy was a world beating superstar with three major championships to his name, he was just an eight-year-old kid chipping golf balls into a washing machine on Irish TV.

Of course McIlroy's assault on washing machines didn't end there, as the 25-year-old British Open champion continued to dent Maytags for years following his breakout television appearance (often in direct competition with a wise-cracking robot).
