The Ryder Cup is the tournament that lets fans have fun with their favorite golfers, none more than their hometown heroes.
Rory McIlroy teed off at 7:00 a.m. ET and was greeted by fans waiting for a European Ryder Cup win.
McIlroy pulled out the driver on No. 1, when he could've gone for less club and nailed his tee shot. He liked it, and left the box with a twirl of the club. Tiger Woods is smiling - from his couch.
McIlroy put Europe 1-up after one.
