Wells Fargo Championship Round 3: McIlroy breaks own course record with 61, leads by 3
Rory McIlroy wants everyone to remember who's No. 1.
The man on top of the World Golf Ranking topped the leaderboard at the Wells Fargo Championship on Saturday, beating his own 18-hole record at Quail Hollow with an 11-under 61. The Northern Irishman had this to say following his round.

McIlroy posted 11 birdies on the day to beat the course record he set in the final round of his first PGA Tour victory in 2010, where he shot a 62 to beat Phil Mickelson by four strokes.
Speaking of "Lefty", he had a great start to Moving Day with four birdies on the front nine and was sitting in third place heading into the final hole. However, Mickelson would triple bogey 18 after putting his tee shot in the water and finished at 8-under for the tournament.
The man with the best chance to catch McIlroy on Sunday is the Quail Hollow member himself, Webb Simpson. Simpson was on pace for his third straight 67 going into the 18th hole, but matched Mickelson's effort by splashing his tee shot.
Simpson would go on to bogey the hole, finishing at 4-under for the day and 14-under for the tournament. He will sit four shots back of McIlroy when they tee off as the last pairing of Sunday's final round.
Shot of the Day
Will MacKenzie gets Saturday's shot of the day for converting a difficult birdie putt from off the green at the 13th hole and enjoying his shot along with the fans in Charlotte.
Honorable mention to McIlroy, a four-time major champion and Caroline Wozniacki's ex-boyfriend.
