John Daly surprised many by shooting a 1-under 71 on Thursday to remain in contention after the first round of the Open Championship.
Prior to his round Friday, Daly found some time for a smoke while practicing on the driving range at St Andrews. He had a unique way of disposing of his cigarette butts.
The 49-year-old won his second career major 20 years ago at the 1995 Open Championship – also played on the Old Course.
