The "Spieth Slam" takes a hit.
Jordan Spieth's approach shot on the par-4 13th hole was left well short of the green, and this year's Masters and U.S. Open champion needed a great chip to give himself a chance to save par.
His shot looked perfect, but somehow failed to drop for a birdie, which would have brought him within one shot of the lead.
Spieth dropped the par putt and now only has five holes to put himself in position for either a four-hole playoff or sole victory at St. Andrews.
