Matt Jones ends 2nd round with 2-stroke lead at Whistling Straits
An Aussie is the sole leader at the 97th PGA Championship. But it's not Adam Scott, and it's not Jason Day.
Matt Jones wrapped up his second round at Whistling Straits with two birdies in his final four holes Saturday to shoot a 65, moving him to 11-under with a two-shot cushion over Day heading into the third round.

His seven-birdie round paled in comparison to the record-tying 63 posted by Hiroshi Iwata on Friday, but was still an impressive feat playing alongside Matt Every and club pro Brian Cairns, who struggled to second-round scores of 80 and 81.
Jones missed the cut in two of his previous three starts, but finished tied for third at the St. Jude Classic in June. It's just the fifth major championship cut made by the Sydney native, but third in a row at a PGA Championship.
He won his first professional event at last year's Shell Houston Open, beating out Matt Kuchar in a playoff. He is currently ranked 75th in the World Golf Ranking.
