Bowditch shoots 4th straight round over 80, still earned $43,000
Steven Bowditch's week at Trump National Doral could only be described as a disaster, but for all his struggles, the 32-year-old won't go home empty-handed.
After wrapping up his tournament with a final round 84 at the WGC-Cadillac Championship on Sunday, Bowditch became the only player to shoot 80 or worse in all four rounds at a PGA event in the past 30 years, per Golf Channel's Justin Ray.
Jason Gore got close in '06 at Kapalua. Went 80-80-81... then made par at 18 in final round to shoot 79.

Bowditch finished his tournament at an unbelievable score of 37-over par, but since the tournament hosted just 66 players, there was no cut after Round 2. By virtue of finishing his final round, the Australian still took home $43,000 in prize money.
His most notable round came Friday where he managed to shoot a round of 80 despite knocking down five birdies. His score was undone by a triple at No. 4 and a quad at No. 6, and a sextuple-bogey at the par-four 14th.
A week of Bow-geys
Round | Bogeys | Doubles | Triples+ | Score |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 5 | 1 | 1 | 81 |
2 | 0 | 0 | 3 | 80 |
3 | 3 | 1 | 1 | 80 |
4 | 5 | 1 | 2 | 83 |
A winner of two events in the past two seasons, Bowditch - in one week - matched the number of 80-plus rounds shot by Tiger Woods in his entire PGA Tour career.
