The Toronto Sceptres placed star forward Sarah Nurse on long-term injured reserve with a lower-body injury, the team announced Monday.

Nurse will be out of the lineup indefinitely. Per the PWHL rules, players on LTIR must miss a minimum of 21 days, meaning Nurse will first be eligible to return on March 6 against the Montreal Victoire after missing six games.

The Sceptres signed forward Laura Kluge to a standard player agreement for the remainder of the season in a corresponding move.

Nurse got hurt Thursday in Game 4 of the Rivalry Series against the United States and did not play in Game 5 on Saturday.

The 30-year-old has scored five goals and 12 points in 15 contests with the Sceptres so far this season. She ranked second in the league behind only PWHL MVP Natalie Spooner with 11 tallies and 23 points in 24 outings last campaign.

Spooner hasn't played a game so far this season after tearing her ACL in the playoffs.

Toronto is currently in fourth place with a 5-0-4-6 record.

The Sceptres will return from the international break on Tuesday against the Minnesota Frost.
