Veteran point guard Patrick Beverley has agreed to a one-year, $13-million extension with the Minnesota Timberwolves, bypassing unrestricted free agency this summer, his agent told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Beverley has been a steady presence for a Timberwolves team on the rise after years of acquiring young talent through the draft. The scrappy 33-year-old has started 34 of his 38 appearances so far, averaging nine points, 4.9 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game, with 34% shooting on threes.
The Wolves are 21-17 (.553) when Beverley has played but just 9-10 (.474) when he's sat out for an overall record of 30-27 on the season.
