Robert Lewandowski is set to join Barcelona on a three-year contract this weekend after Bayern Munich accepted the Spanish club's proposal Friday, according to The Guardian's Fabrizio Romano.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta confirmed last week that an offer had been submitted for Lewandowski.

Bayern's reported valuation for the wantaway 33-year-old - who has one year left on his deal at the Allianz Arena - was around €40 million.

Lewandowski revealed his interest in a move on the final day of the Bundesliga season before declaring his "story at Bayern is over" at the end of May. Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic insisted the Polish striker would stay until his contract expired in 2023, but it appears Lewandowski has now got his wish.

"Something went out inside me (at Bayern), and it's something you can't recover," Lewandowski said in June.

Barcelona have already signed Raphinha, Franck Kessie, and Andreas Christensen this summer despite their well-known financial issues. In addition to Raphinha, Lewandowski will team up with fellow attackers Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres, Ousmane Dembele, Memphis Depay, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Martin Braithwaite in Catalonia.

Lewandowski has scored 344 times in 374 games for Bayern since arriving from Dortmund in 2014. The Bavarian outfit has already signed Sadio Mane from Liverpool for a reported initial €32-million fee this close season.
