Report: Raptors interviewing Nuggets assistant Adelman
The Toronto Raptors are interviewing Denver Nuggets assistant David Adelman this week for their open head coaching job, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Adelman has been an assistant coach since 2011, spending time with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Orlando Magic before landing with the Nuggets in 2017.
David's father is former player and coach Rick Adelman, best known for his tenure as bench boss of the Sacramento Kings from 1998-2006, helping the franchise reach the postseason in eight straight seasons.
The Raptors have reportedly looked at numerous candidates for the coaching position, including Becky Hammon, head coach of the WNBA's Las Vegas Aces. Toronto parted ways with Nick Nurse earlier in April after a 41-41 regular-season campaign that ended with a play-in tournament loss to the Chicago Bulls.
The Nuggets are up 2-1 on the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference semifinals with Game 4 slated for Sunday.
