The Dallas Cowboys are offering star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb a contract worth slightly under $33 million per season, according to Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News.

It's unknown what Lamb is looking for regarding a new extension, Watkins adds. The two sides reportedly talked on the phone before the club left for Las Vegas for Saturday's preseason game against the Raiders.

Minnesota Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson is the NFL's highest-paid wideout, making $35 million per season. An average salary of slightly under $33 million would make Lamb the second-highest-paid receiver in the league, just above Philadelphia Eagles star A.J. Brown, who signed a three-year, $96-million extension in April.

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said the team didn't have "any urgency" to sign Lamb last week but walked back his comments days later.

"CeeDee, you're missed, OK?" Jones said, per Yahoo Sports' Jori Epstein. "But you're not missed out here competing, and (your absence) doesn't put any pressure any place on us."

The Oklahoma product is one of three Cowboys stars seeking a new deal. Quarterback Dak Prescott and edge rusher Micah Parsons are also seeking long-term contracts, and Prescott said Thursday that "good conversations are going on" regarding his potential extension.

Lamb set career highs in receptions (135), receiving yards (1,749), and touchdowns (12) last campaign.
