Kansas City Royals star catcher Salvador Perez is confident he'll end up enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame when his career is over.

"100%," Perez said Monday, per ASAP Transcripts. "If you don't think that way, you're in the wrong sport. I think every player wants to be in the Hall of Fame. I think every player wants to play 14, 15, 17, 20 years doing the same thing. I at least have the opportunity right now. That's what I tell myself right now. Give it everything you have; you never know."

Perez ranks 11th on the all-time list for catchers in home runs (273), has made nine All-Star appearances, and won World Series MVP during the Royals' championship season in 2015.

The 34-year-old enjoyed another strong season in 2024, hitting 27 home runs with 104 RBIs and a .786 OPS in 158 games as Kansas City made the postseason for the first time in nine years.
