Hill 'not impressed' by Pereira's UFC 307 win

UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira's latest victory didn't wow former champ Jamahal Hill.

Pereira defended his title for the third time at UFC 307 last weekend in Salt Lake City, defeating Khalil Rountree Jr. in a back-and-forth, vicious fourth-round TKO stoppage.

Hill was cageside for the fight and was seen on camera afterward making a yawning face, seemingly trying to indicate that Pereira's performance didn't leave an impression on him.

"Was it entertaining? Yes. Was I impressed? No," Hill said earlier this week in a video on his YouTube channel. "I'm not impressed. ... Did I see anything in the cage that scares me or that I didn't expect to see? No."

Pereira and Hill shared the Octagon at UFC 300 in April, with "Poatan" scoring a devastating first-round knockout win in his first light heavyweight title defense.

Rountree put up a much tougher challenge against Pereira, winning the first two rounds before the champ took over and overwhelmed Rountree with a violent sequence of strikes.

Hill said he was glad to see Pereira remain on top of the 205-pound division.

"I'm happy Alex won," Hill said. "Because I want him to be as big of a giant in your minds as possible the next time I face him."

Since UFC 300, Hill has had his sights set on a rematch - albeit not necessarily right away. "Sweet Dreams" said he's even willing to forgo a title shot if it means getting a chance to redeem himself against Pereira.

"At this point, I don't care - (Pereira) can (fight) Magomed (Ankalaev) next and he can lose. That's the fight that I want," Hill said. "I don't want the belt. I want that fight."

As for what's next, Hill said he has a fight in the works but didn't reveal his opponent.
