Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Tommy Edman was named the 2024 National League Championship Series MVP.

Edman, an unlikely hero during the series, tied Corey Seager's NLCS and Dodgers single-series records with 11 RBIs during the six-game win over the New York Mets. He's the sixth player to drive in at least 11 during a single LCS, per Stathead.

The versatile Edman started games in center field during the NLDS but shifted to shortstop after Miguel Rojas' injury. In six games in the NLCS, he hit .407/.393/.630 (11-for-27) with five runs scored, three doubles, and a stolen base. His 11 hits matched the franchise's single-series record set by Ron Fairly and Maury Wills in the 1965 World Series and Bill Russell in the 1978 Fall Classic.

Edman clinched the award by going 2-for-5 with a homer and four RBIs in a stellar Game 6 performance.

Edman, 29, is the ninth Dodgers player to win NLCS MVP since it was first presented in 1977. He's just the third NL shortstop to win it, joining Seager in 2020 and the St. Louis Cardinals' Ozzie Smith in 1985.

The Dodgers acquired Edman prior to this year's trade deadline from the Cardinals in a three-team deal that also involved the Chicago White Sox. That trade also brought in reliever Michael Kopech, who opened Game 6 for Los Angeles.
