Five-star prospect Chris Cenac Jr., the top-ranked center in the 2025 recruiting class, committed to Houston, he told 247Sports' Eric Bossi.

The 6-foot-10 big man is ESPN's No. 7 recruit and the No. 1 prospect in the state of Louisiana. With his commitment, he becomes Houston's highest-ranked recruit of the modern era.

Cenac's stock rose over the summer while playing with Dallas-based YGC on the Puma Pro 16 circuit. He followed that with a strong showing at the USA Basketball U17 minicamp and NBPA Top 100 camp.

He went on to make the U17 national team and helped lead his country to a gold medal at the FIBA U17 World Cup, averaging 8.9 points and 5.4 rebounds at the tournament.

Cenac pushed himself into the national top 10 and chose the Cougars over offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky, LSU, and Tennessee, among others.

"I just like the coaching staff a lot, I like their plan to develop me and I like coming into a winning program," Cenac said. "I'm looking forward to producing and just helping them win more. But the main thing was development and them being able to get me better so I can be ready for that next level."

He joins a loaded recruiting class in Houston that features five-star guard Isiah Harwell and four-star guards Kingston Flemings and Bryce Jackson. The Cougars now have the No. 2 recruiting class in the country, according to ESPN.
