Anaheim Ducks goaltender John Gibson did not re-enter Monday's loss to the Vegas Golden Knights after taking the blade of Tanner Laczynski's stick to the mask.

The veteran turned aside all 11 shots he faced before being struck by the Golden Knights forward during the late stages of the opening frame. The Ducks ruled Gibson out with what they called an upper-body injury.

Lukas Dostal entered the game in relief and surrendered a shorthanded goal to Tanner Pearson in the final minute of the first period.

Gibson came into the contest with a 5-5-1 record, .906 save percentage, and 3.01 goals against average on the campaign. He missed the beginning of the season after undergoing an emergency appendectomy in September.

The 31-year-old is once again on the trade block this season. The Carolina Hurricanes have reportedly spoken to the Ducks about Gibson.

He's under contract for two more years after 2024-25 with a $6.4-million cap hit.
