World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler withdrew from The Sentry after cutting his hand and is expected to fully recover in three-to-four weeks, the PGA TOUR announced Friday.

"On Christmas Day while preparing dinner, Scottie sustained a puncture wound to the palm of his right hand from a broken glass," Scheffler's manager, Blake Smith, said in a statement. "Small glass fragments remained in the palm, which required surgery."

The Sentry is the opening event of the 2025 season and will take place next week from Jan. 2-5 in Hawaii. Scheffler's next scheduled tournament is The American Express, which runs from Jan. 16-19.

Scheffler won seven TOUR events during the 2024 season and is the reigning FedEx Cup champion. He is the first player since Tiger Woods (2005-07) to win three straight Player of the Year awards.
