Starting pitcher Trevor Williams is returning to the Washington Nationals on a two-year contract worth $14 million, the club announced Tuesday.

Williams missed time with a flexor muscle strain in 2024 but posted a strong 2.03 ERA and 1.04 WHIP across 13 starts when healthy. His 2.79 FIP was his best with at least 50 innings pitched.

It was a timely turnaround for Williams after he struggled mightily the previous year. He allowed a National League-leading 34 home runs while recording a 5.55 ERA and 1.60 WHIP across 30 starts in 2023.

The 32-year-old has also spent time with the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Mets, and Chicago Cubs throughout his nine-year career.

The righty owns a 4.30 ERA (97 ERA+) over 926 1/3 MLB innings.
