The New York Mets are bringing back Jesse Winker, agreeing to a deal with the 31-year-old outfielder, the club announced Friday.

Winker's deal is for $7.5 million with a chance to reach $9 million via bonuses, according to the New York Post's Joel Sherman.

Winker slashed .243/.318/.365 with three home runs and 13 RBIs in 44 games for the Mets after they acquired him from the Washington Nationals before last season's trade deadline.

Overall, the Buffalo native hit 14 homers with a .764 OPS (118 OPS+) in 2024. The left-handed hitter fared much better against right-handed pitching, slashing .258/.366/.422 with 13 homers and 49 RBIs last season.

The one-time All-Star should provide the Mets with solid left-handed at-bats at designated hitter while also providing them with another outfield option alongside Juan Soto, Brandon Nimmo, Jose Siri, Starling Marte, and Tyrone Taylor.
