The New York Mets agreed to a two-year minor-league deal with right-hander Adbert Alzolay, sources told The Athletic's Will Sammon.

Alzolay was non-tendered by the Chicago Cubs in November after appearing in 18 games during a 2024 campaign that ended for him last August when he underwent Tommy John surgery.

The 29-year-old saved 22 games for the Cubs during the best campaign of his career in 2023. He also authored a 2.67 ERA and 9.4 K/9 that same season.

Alzolay owns a career 4.04 ERA and 4.30 FIP with 269 strikeouts in 254 innings pitched.
