Utah's Cooley out indefinitely with lower-body injury
Utah Hockey Club forward Logan Cooley is out indefinitely with a lower-body injury, the team announced Friday.
Cooley will be re-evaluated after the break for the 4 Nations Face-Off. The NHL resumes its schedule on Feb. 22 following the tournament's conclusion.
It's unclear how Cooley suffered the injury. He recorded one assist and three shots in 19:50 of ice time during Utah's 3-2 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday.
Cooley ranks second on the team with 43 points and third with 15 goals in 50 outings. He recorded 20 tallies and 44 points during his rookie campaign last season.
His absence is a major blow to Utah, which has been without Dylan Guenther since early January because of a lower-body injury. However, the club upgraded Guenther to day-to-day on Wednesday, according to KSL Sports' Cole Bagley.
Utah entered Friday's action in fifth place in the Central Division with a 21-21-8 record.
