The Chicago Cubs agreed to a minor-league deal with right-hander Chris Flexen, sources told The Athletic's Sahadev Sharma and Ken Rosenthal.

Flexen pitched for the crosstown Chicago White Sox last season and should provide the Cubs with starting depth. He logged 160 innings while posting a 3-15 record with a 4.95 ERA for the South Siders in 2024.

The 30-year-old hurler joins the fifth MLB team of his career, which also includes a short stint in Korea.

Flexen's best campaign came in 2021 with the Seattle Mariners when he won 14 games and posted a 3.89 FIP.

The Cubs' projected starting rotation includes Shota Imanaga, Justin Steele, Jameson Taillon, Matthew Boyd, and Javier Assad.
