The Houston Texans are open to the possibility that wide receiver Stefon Diggs remains with the club next season.

Diggs, who is set to become a free agent this spring, played in the first eight games of the season before tearing his ACL on Oct. 27 during the Texans’ win over the Indianapolis Colts.

"We have good relationships with Stef and his representation," general manager Nick Caserio said in a Wednesday interview on SportsRadio 610's "Payne and Pendergast," per The Houston Chronicle's Matt Young. "We enjoyed having Stef in the building. So, the door is always open. A number of players have expressed sentiments and interest in potentially returning to our team next season. We never rule anything out, so we're going to be open-minded."

Houston traded a 2025 second-round pick to the Buffalo Bills to acquire Diggs plus late-round selections in the 2024 and 2025 drafts. The Texans and Diggs agreed to void the final three years of his deal last April. He played last season on a one-year, $22.52-million contract, per Over the Cap.

Diggs, 31, caught 47 passes for 496 yards and three touchdowns last season. The four-time Pro Bowler had posted six consecutive 1,000-yard seasons prior to his 2024 campaign.

Quarterback C.J. Stroud also expressed hope that the 2020 first-team All-Pro would stay in Houston.

"That's my boy. I would love to have Stef back," Stroud said in January, per KPRC 2's Aaron Wilson. "I think we were just getting started. He was having so much fun. Me and him were starting to build a rapport."

Retaining Diggs would help the Texans fill a void at receiver opposite Nico Collins. Tank Dell's availability for 2025 is unclear after he sustained a significant knee injury late in the regular season.
