Dan Marino never won a Super Bowl championship during his career, but he believes things would've turned out differently had the Pittsburgh Steelers not passed on him in the 1983 NFL Draft.

"Looking back at their teams, I probably would've won a couple Super Bowls," the Hall of Fame quarterback and Pittsburgh native said on a recent episode of the "Not Just Football with Cam Heyward" podcast. "I really do, because of the defense they had and all that."

The Steelers drafted Texas Tech nose tackle Gabe Rivera at No. 21 overall, leaving Marino to be selected six picks later by the Miami Dolphins. Rivera's NFL career came to a tragic end after just six games when he was paralyzed in a car wreck.

Marino spent his entire 17-year career in Miami, winning NFL MVP in 1984, NFL Comeback Player of the Year honors in 1994, and the Walter Payton Man of the Year award in 1998.

The Dolphins advanced to Super Bowl XIX during Marino's second season, losing 38-16 to the San Francisco 49ers.
