Future Hall of Famer Albert Pujols has his eyes set on landing a managerial job in Major League Baseball.

"Whenever the opportunity comes, if there is something knocking this year or next year, I mean, why not?" Pujols said Sunday, according to Jeff Fletcher of SoCal News Group.

Pujols also confirmed he'll lead the Dominican Republic at the 2026 World Baseball Classic.

The legendary slugger recently got his feet wet, managing Leones del Escogido to a win in the Caribbean Series over Mexico's Charros de Jalisco. He also led the team to victory in the Dominican Winter League.

"I've always said it openly, I want to have the opportunity to be a manager here in the big leagues," Pujols said, according to MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger. "I think being in Winter League this year, it just gave me the experience that I needed and to learn. And I think it prepared me for the big jump to manage in the big leagues."

Pujols retired as a player following the 2022 season after becoming the fourth member of the illustrious 700-home run club. The 45-year-old is eligible for induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2028.
