Toronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer left Saturday's game against the New York Mets with lower back spasms after crashing into the wall, manager John Schneider said postgame, per MLB.com's Keegan Matheson.

Schneider added that Springer won't need to undergo an MRI.

Springer collided with the fence in right field while attempting to catch a game-tying, two-run triple off the bat of the Mets' Jesse Winker in the bottom of the eighth inning.

The 35-year-old was in obvious pain after the play and needed help from the training staff as he walked off the field.

"It was weird, between the padding and the fence there. He hit it weird," Schneider said. "I’m glad he got up and threw it, to be honest with you, but I think he hit the wall weird, and the conditions definitely didn't help."

New York went on to win the game 3-2 in the bottom of the ninth inning on a walk-off sacrifice fly off the bat of Francisco Lindor.

Springer has been a bright spot for the Blue Jays in the early portion of the season, hitting .379 with a 1.055 OPS, one home run, two doubles, one triple, and five RBIs across 29 at-bats.

The Blue Jays and Mets wrap up their three-game series Sunday.
