New York Mets star outfielder Juan Soto was touched by the support he's received from Mets fans despite an inconsistent start at the plate in his first year with the club.

Soto received a standing ovation ahead of a key at-bat during Friday's game and delivered an RBI single en route to a 5-4 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.

"It's a great feeling," Soto said Sunday, per SNY. "When you have a fan base supporting you, when you're doing bad, when you're doing good, it's just great. I really appreciate what they did. I feel like they don't know how meaningful (it is). It means a lot for the players when they do that. It feels really special."

Soto had a pair of hits, one walk, and three RBIs during Sunday's 7-4 victory over St. Louis, which completed a four-game sweep.

"He's going to be as hot as a firecracker here pretty soon," Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo said of Soto, according to Tim Healey of Newsday.

Sunday's game brought Soto's slash line up to .256/.385/.436 with three home runs, five doubles, 12 RBIs, and 17 walks in 22 games this season.
