Oklahoma City Thunder executive vice president and general manager Sam Presti won the NBA's Executive of the Year award, the league announced Tuesday.

Presti earned the honor for the first time in his career after building a Thunder roster that led the NBA with a 68-14 record this season, the sixth-best mark in NBA history and a franchise record.

Presti garnered 10 first-place votes to finish ahead of Cleveland Cavaliers president Koby Altman and Detroit Pistons president Trajan Langdon, who each got six.

Name Team 1st-place votes (5 points) Total points
Sam Presti Thunder 10 74
Koby Altman Cavaliers 6 58
Trajan Langdon Pistons 6 52
Rafael Stone Rockets 4 38
Lawrence Frank Clippers 1 12
Rob Pelinka Lakers 1 11
Mike Dunleavy Jr. Warriors 0 6
Sean Marks Nets 1 5
Brad Stevens Celtics 1 5
Leon Rose Knicks 0 4
Monte McNair Kings 0 3
Jeff Weltman Magic 0 1
Brian Wright Spurs 0 1

The 47-year-old has been with the organization since 2007, when they were still the Seattle SuperSonics.

Presti has successfully rebuilt the Thunder roster following the Kevin Durant-Russell Westbrook era. He acquired superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and 11 first-round draft picks through 2030 to set OKC up for sustained competition.

Last offseason, Presti traded former sixth overall pick Josh Giddey to the Chicago Bulls for defensive stopper Alex Caruso - a move that gave the Thunder's bench some needed hustle.

OKC finished with a top-two record in the NBA in back-to-back seasons after going 57-25 in 2023-24.
